Bright, floral, and unmistakably Ethiopian.

This washed-process coffee comes from the Dogo Sodu washing station in Ethiopia’s Guji Zone, in the Oromia region. Smallholder farmers in the Bule Hora area grow it at 1,950 to 2,350 meters, under shade trees, on family garden farms. The altitude, cool temperatures, and slow cherry ripening produce dense beans, and Guji coffees are known for exactly that kind of flavor.

In the cup, expect ripe berries and citrus up front, a light floral note in the background, and a clean, wine-like finish. Medium body, bright acidity. If you like your coffee lively rather than heavy, this is the one.

Washed processing is a big part of the clean, clear profile. The cherries are hand-sorted, fermented, washed in fresh water, and dried on raised beds, which lets the origin come through without muddiness.

I roast this to a Medium roast to keep that origin character front and center, in small batches and to order, so it never sits in a warehouse before it ships to you.

Great as a pour-over or drip coffee, where the brighter notes really shine.
